Brian Williams - Pastor

"Allow me to introduce myself, Brian Williams pastor here at Mt Zion.

I am a life long resident of Greenwood, graduated from GHS in 1995, and attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia AR. I was raised in First Baptist Church Greenwood and so it was there that I came to know Christ as my Savior and Lord at age seven and was called to preach at the age of fifteen. I would list some of my extra Biblical theological influences as Jonathan Edwards, C.H. Spurgeon, John Calvin, C.S. Lewis, and John Piper.

The Lord brought me to Mt Zion in 1997 as a summer youth intern while also working for Burton Pools and Spas; youth turned out not to be my "spiritual gift" but it is now so clear why he brought me here. I have been blessed to serve in many capacities at Mt Zion including: teaching the Senior Adult Sunday School Class for the last nine years, interim pastor, small group study leader, and pastor since 2004. Of all my church experiences I have found Mt. Zion to be gloriously unique: dedicated to the scriptures and truly expressing the love of Jesus to those around them through outstandingly high participation and motivation from our members in ministry- Qualities that are often talked about but rarely seen. It has been exciting to see God work to change the lives of our people and our community but it is even more thrilling to think about the blessings that he has in store for the future!!!

As we like to say, "Mt Zion Baptist Church, where God is doing the most extraordinary of things in the most ordinary of places," but don't take my word for it stop by and see for yourself!

God Speed,

Pastor Brian
